With the first exhibition by Daiki Kimoto, Mikiko Sato Gallery presents a young artist from Hamburg's twin city Osaka. Kimoto's overarching theme is time, especially his own and consciously lived time. For example, when he executes a single brushstroke over several hours, adhering to strict time constraints.

In the current exhibition "Sleep Word" (Japanese: Negoto), Kimoto devotes himself for the first time to his unconsciously experienced time in sleep. His starting point is the somniloquy he perceives in himself. It describes the phenomenon that people begin to speak during sleep/dreaming. With this, Kimoto's "sleep word", experiences from the past or its continuation make themselves felt.

The basis for Daiki Kimoto's current exhibition is his own sleep-word (Negoto). Acoustically, we participate in it by means of a room-filling sound installation. Meanwhile, selected pictures tell us about ghosts he called with this word. Ghosts whose origin he sees in our "fragmented information society", in the dependence on the internet. Likewise, Kimoto's large-scale drawing gives us insight into his real-life studio situation, where he consciously experiences his time in the clear light of the studio and translates it into image.
