Ocean & Salt is the concept of an upcoming exhibition with Motoi Yamamoto at Tokyo's 21_21 Design Sight next Saturday and Sunday, July 6 and 7, 2019. On display is a salt installation by the artist, which was inspired by the latest collection by the Danish porcelain manufacturer Royal Copenhagen entitled "HAV" (ocean):
When I saw their design that looks like waves or fish scales for the first time, I felt something similar to my work. I'd like to create a space with a vast ocean in mind, and through my installation, I hope you can almost hear the waves touching a sandy shore. - Motoi Yamamoto
On Sunday at 5 pm, the salt will be removed by the visitors in the Return to the Sea project and returned to the sea in an individual way.
