For the upcoming exhibition Fantasy Galaxy, the Tokyo gallery The Ginza Space is temporarily transformed into a kind of cosmic cabinet of mirrors. Where until recently there was solid ground underfoot and a roof over one's head, a spiral salt installation by the artist Motoi Yamamoto now appears, extending into infinity, in the midst of which some of the wondrous deer sculptures by the sculptor Yoshimasa Tsuchida linger. The amazing optical illusion is created by mirrors mounted on both the floor and the ceiling. The ceiling lighting also ensures that the light is reflected on the areas not covered by salt, thus projecting a negative or positive image of the floor installation onto the wall.
