As one visitor aptly remarked: "It is a picture that both works at first glance and slowly unfolds its effect. The shadow with its typical symmetrical cone shape immediately evokes associations with Mount Fuji, one "understands" it immediately, yet it remains abstract and enigmatic".

The painting in its original format 75 x 49.9 cm is on display in our current exhibition, which runs until 30th July, 2022.

We are pleased to announce that another work by the artist Rikuo Ueda has been accepted into the renowned collection at the Staatliche Graphische Sammlung Munich.

Unlike the sun, wind does not take centre stage as the central protagonist in nature, but plays more of a supporting role in our perception of the elements. In Ueda's works, however, it becomes the powerful force that makes the decisions, while the actual artist retreats backstage.

The wind etchings "Rikuo Ueda Special Editons", compiled on the occasion of the gallery's 20th anniversary and works for the opening of the exhibition "UP IN THE AIR" at the Kunstmuseum Bonn (open until 19.06.2022), also thrive on this balance of power.
